Inside this skill
Manifest is a radically minimal, blank-canvas style where edge-to-edge white space is the dominant material and black is the only UI color. There are no shadows, no gradients, and almost no borders; hierarchy is carried entirely by typography, scale, and the deliberate placement of emptiness. The feeling is confident, premium, and quiet, the digital equivalent of a clean printed page or a gallery wall. Reach for Manifest when you want the content and a single bold idea to command full attention without any visual noise.
Design principles
- White space is the primary design element; emptiness is intentional, not unfinished.
- Black-only UI: every interactive and structural element is pure black or pure white.
- No shadows, no gradients, no decorative color; separation comes from space and hairlines.
- Pills are the signature shape for all interactive elements.
- Typography leads everything; scale and weight create the entire hierarchy.
- Restraint over ornament: if an element does not carry meaning, remove it.
Color
The canvas and all surfaces are pure white (#FFFFFF). The only ink is pure black (#000000), used for text, fills, and all interactive elements. There is no accent color in the traditional sense; black is the accent. Muted secondary text uses a single neutral gray (#9B9B9B), and the rare divider is a near-invisible hairline (#E2E2E2). A very light fill (#F2F2F2) is available for subtle input backgrounds when absolutely needed. In dark mode the system inverts cleanly: canvas becomes pure black (#000000), ink becomes white (#FFFFFF), muted text shifts to #7A7A7A, and hairlines to #262626. No third color is ever introduced in either mode.
Typography
A single neo-grotesque family (Inter or Neue Haas Grotesk) does the entire job. Display headings run very large at weights 600 to 800 with tight tracking (-0.03em) to feel architectural. Body stays small and calm at 16px with 1.55 line-height and weight 400. Metadata and labels use a monospace (Berkeley Mono) for quiet contrast. The scale is dramatic at a 1.5 ratio (16, 24, 36, 54, 81) so the jump from body to display is striking. Lean on this size contrast, not color, for emphasis.
