Inside this skill

Fantasy turns an interface into an enchanted artifact — something that feels found in a candlelit library rather than rendered on a screen. Deep twilight backgrounds, ornate gold framing, and soft arcane glows give every panel the weight of a relic, while serif type lends it the gravity of old lore. The mood is mysterious, ceremonial, and immersive. Reach for Fantasy when the experience itself is part of the story: game companions, worldbuilding tools, lore wikis, and any product that wants to feel like magic.

Design principles

  • Frame, don't float — surfaces are bordered like illuminated manuscripts, not flat cards.
  • Let darkness dominate so glints of gold and glowing magic read as precious.
  • Use ornament with intent: filigree, double-rules, and corner flourishes mark importance.
  • Treat light as magic — arcane glow signals "active," "powerful," or "selected."
  • Carry the lore voice through serif type and small-caps headings.
  • Keep ornament legible; decoration should frame content, never bury it.

Color

The world is set at twilight. The background is a deep amethyst-black (#15101E), with raised surfaces in a dark violet (#221A30) so panels feel layered into shadow. The primary accent is an aged, candlelit gold (#C9A24B) used for borders, titles, and key numerals — the metal that catches the light. A mystic amethyst (#7B5CD6) is the secondary "magic" color for active markers, mana, and arcane glow, while a cool teal (#3FB6A8) signals restorative or elemental states. Body text is a soft moonlit lavender-white (#EDE7F6), with muted heather (#9A8FB5) for lesser detail and dim violet borders (#3A2E52) defining frames. This style is dark-first; for a "daylight" variant, use a warm parchment background (#F3E9D2), ink-brown text (#3A2A1A), and keep gold and amethyst as accents against the aged paper.

Typography

Type evokes old tomes. Headings use Cinzel (or Playfair Display), a carved Roman serif, set in small-caps with airy +0.08em tracking so titles read as inscriptions. Body copy is EB Garamond, a warm humanist serif, at 16–18px with a relaxed 1.65 line-height for long-form lore. The scale is dramatic — a perfect-fourth ratio (16 / 21 / 28 / 38 / 50px) — so display headings tower over body text. Numerals and stats lean on the gold accent and slightly heavier weights for an embossed feel. Reserve the monospace serif for runes, codes, and incantation snippets.
